Hello everyone, and welcome to my Website!

My name is Jo Ann, and my husband Leroy and I live near beautiful Holden Beach in North Carolina.

My site is still very much a “work in progress” as I have so much more to add as time permits. But I invite you to look around, and hopefully you’ll read or find something here that you find useful - or at least interesting.

How I got here….

In 2005, my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer, and as a result I took an indefinite leave from my job as a real estate agent at Ocean Isle Beach, to be with him. And over the course of the next year, he was in and out of the hospital, underwent several surgeries, and also 2 different series of chemo and radiation therapies.

To make a very looong story - very short….

…Here it is 3 years later and Leroy has been cancer-free all this time - he’s back at work full-time and doing great!

Unfortunately, however, by the time I was ready to go back to work, the real estate business had taken a nose-dive. So I decided rather than get back into that rat-race, I would pursue a long-time dream of mine to have my own affiliate marketing business. After all, that should be a fairly quick and easy business to get into, right? Hmmm.

Almost everybody seems to love the idea of being able to run a business from home - make a decent income - and have the flexibility of being able to spend more of their time doing things that they actually enjoy doing. But it took me all of about 25 minutes to figure out that it “ain’t hap’nin” so easily.

So all of these professionally done, colorful ads I had been seeing about how “easy and effortless” it was to own and run your own internet business - might have been blowing a bit of smoke. Who’d a thought it? :o

I still, however absolutely love the idea of affiliate marketing. And even though I have had to spend a colossal amount of time (15 to 18 hours a day, many days) just trying to nail down the basics and learn as much as I can - I’ll have to say that I am more motivated each and every day.

I have found like many others before me that knowing your way around MS Word or Excel is not quite enough to cut it in this line of work. In fact, in order to make any money online, the average person will have to spend a lot of time in the books and tutorials. YouTube and other tutorial-type videos have also been life-savers for me since I am much too dense to catch on to everything just by reading it.

I believe that continuous studying, applying your new knowledge and skills, testing almost everything you do, evaluation, and repeating those steps over again, is the way to reach your goals for your online business.

But, at the end of the day, though I have no delusions about being the next Vic Franqui from The Affiliate Academy, or Grizzly Bear from Make Money Online For Beginners, I do hope to eventually make a full-time income doing what I truly enjoy doing - and it would be an absolute dream-come-true to be good enough at it to teach others and watch their businesses grow.

Update:

My husband and I have just recently moved to Cameron, NC. - about 2 1/2 hours from where we lived at Holden Beach, NC.  Closer to family, and also to his job.  If you love antiques, boy is this the place to be!  Nothing but antique shops, wall to wall.

Oh well….

Hopefully now I can get back to some much needed work on my sites since we have finally settled in!
